Terms of Service

Effective 24 May 2026

These terms ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StickyAlert (the "Service"), operated by Luminai AI Solutions & Consultancy FZE (www.luminai.ae) — "we", "us", or "Luminai". By creating an account, scanning a QR sticker, or using any other part of the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. What StickyAlert does

StickyAlert lets vehicle owners put a QR sticker on their car. Anyone who scans the sticker can anonymously send the owner an alert (e.g. "Lights left on", "Blocking another car") and optionally open a short anonymous chat with them. Chats automatically expire after 48 hours.

2. Not an emergency service

StickyAlert is a communication tool, not an emergency service. If you are witnessing or experiencing a real emergency — a crime in progress, a fire, a medical incident, a traffic accident — contact local authorities directly. Do not rely on StickyAlert in those situations. Delivery of alerts and messages is best-effort and depends on third-party infrastructure (Apple, Google, your network, the recipient's device).

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use StickyAlert. If you're under 18, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian. If you register on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to do so.

4. Your account

You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for everything that happens on your account. Information you provide should be accurate and you should have the right to share it. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account — deletion is permanent and removes your profile, vehicles, alerts, and chats.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to: register a vehicle you don't own or have permission to manage; use StickyAlert to harass, threaten, defame, or harm anyone; file false or spam alerts, or scan QR codes you have no legitimate reason to interact with; attempt to identify other users by their handles, scrape, reverse engineer, or otherwise misuse the Service or its data; use the Service in any way that violates applicable laws (including UAE laws regulating defamation, false reporting, and data protection) or any third-party rights.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, and we may delete content that we reasonably believe violates them.

6. Content you create

You keep ownership of any content you submit (vehicle details, alert bodies, chat messages). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store and transmit that content as needed to operate the Service. Chat messages are end-to-end encrypted on your device before being sent — we only ever handle the encrypted version and cannot read their content.

7. Anonymity, with limits

When you scan someone's QR and file a report or chat, the owner sees only an anonymous handle — not your phone, email, or real name. The reporter only ever sees "Car Owner". Anonymity is at the protocol level only: if you submit content that itself reveals your identity, we can't undo that. We may also comply with valid legal requests from authorities.

8. Push notifications & messages

We use push notifications (via Apple APNs and Google FCM, relayed through the Expo Push Service) to alert you to new reports and messages. You can turn these off from Settings → Notifications. SMS delivery for phone verification is operated by Firebase Authentication; standard carrier rates may apply.

9. Third parties

StickyAlert runs on Google Firebase, the Expo Push Service, APNs / FCM, and Crisp (crisp.chat, our customer support chat provider). We share data with these providers only as needed to operate the relevant features. Their terms and privacy notices apply to their pieces of the stack.

10. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy describes what data we collect, how we use it, and how long we keep it. By using the Service you accept the privacy practices described there.

11. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may modify or discontinue parts of the Service at any time. We may also update these Terms — when we do, we'll update the "Effective" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Termination

You can stop using StickyAlert at any time and can delete your account from Settings. We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you've violated these Terms or are using the Service in a way that could harm us or other users.

13. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, to the maximum extent permitted by law. We don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any alert or message will be delivered on time or at all.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither we nor our suppliers will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total cumulative liability for any claim arising under these Terms is limited to USD 50.

15. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable lawyers' fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms or your misuse of the Service.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute relating to the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE, unless your local consumer protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
